A convicted child rapist is back behind bars in Washington after police said he kidnapped and assaulted an 11-year-old girl at a public library.

Police said the attack happened in broad daylight Wednesday, in the small town of Enumclaw, east of Tacoma.

Investigators said Travis Lear approached the girl while she sat in her dad's car outside the library, according to a report by Seattle's KCPQ.

Police said he then forced her inside the library, where he molested her in a bathroom stall.

Police said Lear apologized and said he couldn't control his urges.

He is a level one sex offender, convicted in 2008 of raping a 14-year-old girl.

The victim provided a good description of the suspect and police identified him using library surveillance cameras. He was arrested at his mother's home, according to The Associated Press.
