WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Washington County Sheriff deputies arrested a man accused of stealing four cars in four days.

On Saturday, a deputy was recovering a stolen car on SW Alderwood Drive near SW 185th Avenue.

While at the car, the deputy received information about a silver Ford Fusion that was stolen from the Tigard area.

The deputy saw a car matching the description drive by, so he followed it and stopped the car.

Additional deputies responded to help with the traffic stop.

They were able to connect the driver, Travis Kitchen, with three additional car thefts in the previous four days.

The thefts happened in Tigard, Hillsboro and unincorporated Washington counties.

Deputies think Kitchen looked for cars that had the keys left inside, and would quickly steal them.

Two of the stolen vehicles were reported to have been "warming up" in front of the owners' home.

Kitchen was ordered to stay at the Washington County Community Corrections Center for prior crime sentencing, but he left Jan. 29, and didn't return that night.

He was arrested on four counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, four counts of first-degree theft, and four counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

He also had a warrant for leaving the corrections center.

All four cars were able to be returned to their owners.
