STANFIELD, OR (KPTV) -

A truck driver walking back to his truck at an Interstate 84 rest stop was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning.

Troopers said the robber confronted the 55-year-old man from Alabama at the rest stop near Stanfield in northeast Oregon.

The truck driver had just taken out a trash can before the gun-wielding robber ordered him into the back of his truck where he robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber took off in an unknown direction.

He's described as a white man in his 30s with an average build and sandy blonde hair to the top of his ears. He wore a black, long-sleeve thermal shirt, gray-brown pants and used a Bluetooth device in his left ear. He had no facial hair.

It's not known if the suspect used a car to complete his getaway.

Anyone with information on the robber's identity is asked to call 541-278-4090.
