Police rescued a man stuck along the Yamhill River who was trying to get to Spirit Mountain Casino.
After a four hour operation, the Polk County Sheriff's office rescued 27-year-old Adam Thayer at about 4:30 Monday morning, wet and shoeless. He told police he was in the woods earlier that evening when his car got stuck. Heading out on foot, Thayer headed north towards the Spirit Mountain Casino, but forgot about the Yamhill River. That's where he got stuck amid thick brush.
Police found him about 12:20 a.m., but due to the harsh conditions, a rescue crew was unable to reach him until later that morning. Once brought to safety, Thayer was treated by medics on scene and released.
