VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
Trial will resume Tuesday morning in the case against a Vancouver couple accused of starving, beating and imprisoning their adopted children.
Police arrested Jeff and Sandra Weller back in 2011. Investigators say they only fed their adopted twins once a day and beat them if they tried to steal food. They are now facing charge of assault and unlawful imprisonment.
The children were adopted from California when they were infants. They are now 16 years old. Prosecutors say the jury heard testimony from the alleged victims during the first day of the trial on Monday.
Day two of the trial begins Tuesday.
