KELSO, WA (KPTV) -
A Kelso woman has been booked into jail on allegations she offered money to have a man killed.
Longview police said Amanda Kirwan pulled the trigger of a .38 caliber pistol as she aimed it at Ryan Fancher.
The gun never went off, but police said Kirwan then tried to get someone else to do it.
An informant told police last month that Kirwan had made plans to kill Fancher because of an unpaid drug debt, according to officers.
After she tried, and failed to shoot Fancher, police said, she went looking for help.
Detectives said they were able to record audio of Kirwan trying to trade money for Fancher's death.
Last Friday, officers said they saw Kirwan stalking Fancher. They arrested her and found the pistol in her sweatshirt pocket.
Kirwan denied the allegations in court, saying Fancher was a former friend but she had never planned to kill him.
She is now charged with criminal solicitation for murder and possession of a concealed firearm without a license, and is being held on $1 million bail.
