KENO, OR (KPTV) -

The body of a Klamath Falls area man was found Wednesday near where his car was located abandoned last December north of Keno, OR.

A former member of Klamath County Search and Rescue was walking through a forested area along Clover Creek Road on Feb. 6 and found the body of a man.

The body has been tentatively identified as Robert Lear.

An autopsy will be done by the State Medical Examiner's office to determine the cause of death.

Oregon State Police detectives began an investigation when Lear was reported missing by family members on Dec. 20, 2012.

Klamath County Search and Rescue found no trace of Lear after his car was found on a spur road of Clover Creek Road.

They believe the car had been there for two weeks.

Challenges for searches including significant snow fall, weather conditions and the period of time Lear had been missing were factors in suspending the search in December.
