WILMINGTON, DE (RNN) - Two women were shot and killed when a gunman opened fire at the New Castle County Courthouse at about 8 a.m. ET.
Mayor Dennis Williams told media one of the women killed was the estranged wife of the gunman.
Investigators told CNN that a man entered the lobby and began shooting.
Two Capitol Police officers were also wounded and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The alleged gunman was killed by police, according to Williams.
The police chief of Wilmington was scheduled to appear Monday in Philadelphia at a discussion on gun violence with Vice President Joe Biden.
