FAIRVIEW, OR (KPTV) -
Fairview police are trying to figure out why a man was killed standing in the middle of the train tracks Sunday.
It happened around 8 p.m. near Northeast 207 and Fairview Lake Way.
The train was heading west.
The Union Pacific engineer said he saw the man, but was unable to stop in time and hit him.
The man died at the scene.
He wasn't carrying any identification.
The medical examiner was headed to the scene.
As of Monday morning, there was no word on a possible identification for the man or any speculation on why he was standing on the train tracks.
