PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A new company in Portland is looking to push local businesses to the next level.
PDX Pedal Promotions is a bicycle-powered advertising agency.
The company uses bikes to tote mobile billboards around town.
The concept is already cruising along in other cities across the country.
PDX Pedal Promotions' president Tracie Benjamin says she's surprised the idea hasn't rolled into Portland sooner, considering it is such a bike-friendly city.
"Everybody is extremely surprised that no one has done it yet," Benjamin said. "It's something so new and in advertising, it seems like everyone's trying to yell louder than the other person. Well, why not yell differently and do something like this."
Benjamin said the billboards can run at different hours and on different routes depending on what a customer wants.
