David Holmes
LONGVIEW, WA (KPTV) -
A man was sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in Longview.
David Holmes was arrested in September 2012. Police were called out to the 300 block of Oregon Way that night and found two men pushing a car into an alley.
Officers said a van was behind the car and a body was inside the van.
One of the men told police he was asked by Holmes to help dispose of a body and clean up the mess. That man was interviewed as a witness and not charged in the case.
The victim was identified as Kevin Watts, 50, of Longview. Police said he had been living in the van while it was parked at a residence on Oregon Way.
Investigators said he died of multiple injuries caused by a sharp weapon.
Holmes was scheduled to face trial March 11 before reaching a plea deal and entering his guilty plea on Feb. 7.
