PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A 13-year-old boy received his first cancer diagnosis as an 8-year-old. Since then, Adonis Johnson's family has faced that same bad news eight more times.
He's fought the tumors off every single time, sometimes multiple tumors at once, and the Children's Cancer Association has been there every step of the way.
The organization has invited his family to fun events and helped fill in the gaps during the holidays for gifts when money has been tight.
But after his ninth diagnosis in November, this time tumors on his spinal cord, the CCA gave Adonis every young man's dream.
With the help of the Home Depot, Adonis got his very own man cave.
"They gave me a new bed and new carpet and new paint and I wanted my name on the wall, and they did my name in graffiti on the wall," he said.
Adonis has gone through so much radiation treatment in his life, he can't have anymore. It would just be too dangerous.
There's also a big screen TV and a brand new video game system so Adonis can play games with his little brother, hang out with friends and just escape for a little while after all that he's been through.
Adonis, however, said he doesn't want to forget all the battles he's faced and continues to fight. So, on his back is tattooed the word "survivor," with all the dates of his diagnoses below.
