WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

Two men guilty of murdering a 19-year-old in front of a Wooburn home in 2011 have been sentenced to life in prison.

A jury found Javier Sanchez-Perez guilty of charges including murder in the death of Tomas Montes-Sanchez in May 2011.

Erasmo Lopez Jr. pleaded no contest to the charge of murder in this case in December 2012.

Police said the shooting death stemmed from a group of people trying to fight Montes-Sanchez and his brothers, who all refused to fight.

Officers said Montes-Sanchez wasn't a gang member, but his murder was considered gang-related.

Sanchez-Perez and Lopez were both sentenced to life in prison Friday, with the possibility of parole at a later date.
