One dead in wrong-way collision near Woodland

NEAR WOODLAND, WASHINGTON -

The driver of a Honda Civic that drove south in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Woodland, WA this morning was killed upon crashing into a Ford pick-up truck.

The crash closed down two of the three lanes of I-5 northbound near milepost 21 for hours this morning as an investigation was conducted.

According to Washington State Patrol, the Honda Civic collided with the pick-up truck at about 5:20 a.m. Witnesses tell Fox 12 the Civic's headlights were off, and the car showed no signs of slowing down as veered into the path of the truck.

The driver of the truck was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.  The condition of the survivor is unknown.  

A WSP spokesman says there were no passengers in either vehicle.
