A routine traffic stop in Idaho led police to seize almost 90 pounds of marijuana and arrest an Oregon man Wednesday.
Antonio Alvarez-Contreras, of Gaston, was in a silver Toyota Highlander heading east on Interstate 86 near American Falls. A trooper stopped the SUV for a traffic violation just before 9 a.m.
When police searched the vehicle, they found 89.9 pounds of marijuana, troopers said.
In addition to the marijuana, police seized the SUV.
Alvarez-Contreras was booked into the Power County Jail on a charge of trafficking a controlled substance.
