PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A drug investigation in southeast Portland led police to two suspect and dozens of high-powered guns.

The two people arrested were 30-year-old Joshua Michael Buettner and 26-year-old Jehna Gowanlock.

An investigation into the pair started in January when officers learned that they might be involved in the distribution of heroin.

On Wednesday, Feb. 20 at around 4 p.m., Portland police served a warrant on a home on the 4200 block of SE 82nd Avenue. At this location, police arrested Buettner, who they said was armed with a handgun and in possession of an ounce of heroin.

Police then went to Buettner's home on SE 75th Avenue where they seized 34 additional firearms, including rifles and handguns. Ammunition and other evidence was also confiscated.

Officers will be checking serial numbers to see if any of the guns are listed as stolen property and if so, will make every effort to return them to the rightful owner.

Buettner and Gowanlock were both charged with multiple drug crimes and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
