Shots fired investigation in North Portland

Posted: Updated:

Police in North Portland are investigating a confrontation at a convenience store that ended with multiple shots being fired into the air. It happened Saturday, Feb. 23rd at around 8:45 p.m. at the Lucky Mart on N. Lombard Street.

Officers arrived at the store and spoke with the clerk who told his side of the story.  He says that a young African-American woman entered the store earlier in the evening.  The clerk says she had previously shoplifted from the store, so he confronted her.  That is when he says she began throwing things around the store, knocking down a TV, which landed on his infant son.

The boy was not injured, and the woman left the store.

Later that night, the clerk says a young African-American male showed up claiming to be the girl's brother.  He and the clerk then got in a physical confrontation.

The clerk says the man then ran out of the store at the corner of N. Lombard Street and Glouchester Avenue and fired several shots into the air before running away.

Officers searched the area but did not locate any suspects or damage from the gunfire.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call detectives at (503) 823-0400.
