SALEM, OR (KPTV) -
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a woman driving a 1999 Dodge Caravan heading south on Lancaster Boulevard Northeast in Salem Monday evening.
The man may have been lying in the street wearing all dark clothing when he was hit by the minivan, according to preliminary police reports. The crash happened at about 7 p.m.
The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Lancaster Boulevard Northeast was closed between Beverly and Wolverine streets for about three hours while police investigated.
