HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -
A man was hit and killed by a car exiting a Hillsboro parking lot Monday night.
Police said it happened at 5:30 p.m. near 1661 S.E. Tualatin Valley Highway. Investigators said Skip Molen, 41, was exiting a parking lot in his 1986 Porsche when he spotted a person in the roadway.
Molen told police he slammed on his brakes, but wasn't able to avoid hitting the man in the street.
Investigators said Kenneth Wadley, 54, was hit on the left side of his body, crashing into the windshield and then the ground. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead about an hour after the crash.
Police said Molen was driving 25 mph at the time of the crash and Wadley was wearing all dark clothing.
Investigators said Molen had no signs of impairment and cooperated fully with the investigation. No citations were issued.
