VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
Part of Crestline Elementary School is being reconstructed across the country to help figure out how a fire started.
The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is helping the Vancouver Fire and Police Departments with the investigation.
The ATF is rebuilding part of the school at the National Fire Research Laboratory in Maryland to examine a fire in a controlled setting.
It could take months to determine the cause of the three-alarm fire that destroyed the school earlier this month.
Investigators are also sifting through the rubble, asking teachers what they had in their rooms and questioning first responders about what they saw as they arrived.
