Police cracked open two safes as part of an investigation that has already resulted in the seizure of heroin and 35 guns.
Inside the safes officers found more heroin, more guns and a whole lot of cash.
Joshua Buettner, 30, and Jehna Gowanlock, 26, were arrested at separate southeast Portland locations on Feb. 20. Police said they had been investigating the pair since January when officers learned they might be involved in the distribution of heroin.
They were arraigned in court the following day on various drug charges and are due back in court March 7.
On Tuesday, police served a search warrant to open two safes that were recovered during the investigation. Officers said they found more than $100,000 in cash, more than an ounce of heroin and four handguns.
None of those guns in the safe were reported stolen.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges could be filed against Buettner and Gowanlock.
