A bookkeeper for the Longview YMCA is accused of stealing $150,000 from the organization.

The board of directors president reported the situation to the Longview Police Department on Jan. 28. He said the YMCA conducted a financial audit in December 2012 and found several thousand dollars in discrepancies.

Detectives began a criminal investigation and said in excess of $150,000 was stolen over the past several years.

On Tuesday, detectives interviewed Tomi Dupper, 57, a bookkeeper for the YMCA who had been employed with the organization for 23 years.

Police said she admitted stealing funds, but did not know how much she took in all.

She was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on first-degree theft charges.
