A fatal drug overdose led to the arrest of two men who sold the victim prescription pain medication, said Portland Police.
Breanna Osborne said she discovered her mother's body late Monday night at their home in northeast Portland.
"My mom was a hard-working, good woman," said Osborne.
Police said 60-year-old Karen Sue Osborne used her cell phone to purchase the drugs. Investigators used that evidence to arrest 38-year-old Herbert Walter Miller and 68-year-old Stephen Thomas Frias.
Both men are facing drug charges. Frias is facing additional charges because officers said they found stolen guns and more pills in his house.
Osborne said her mom struggled with an addiction to pain killers, and she told the suspects to stay away after finding their number in her mom's cell phone.
"I told them not to sell my mother drugs. She's an amateur, and she doesn't know what she's doing, and she's going to think she's tough enough, because that's how my mom is, and take them all," said Osborne. "She'll die! I told them three times, she will die!"
Police said Miller and Frias could face additional charges in connection with the death.
Osborne said she hopes her mom's death will encourage others struggling with addiction to turn themselves in.
"You can't hide it. If you're messed up, get real about it and ask for help. If your family loves you, they'll help you. And we would have helped her, but she just denied it."
Miller and Frias were released from jail Wednesday after being arraigned on their charges.
