PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Portland police officers seized 16 suspected stolen bicycles, along with various bike frames and spare parts, from a Northwest Portland hotel room after a man was evicted from the hotel.
At 7:51 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to the Biltmore Hotel on Northwest Sixth Avenue after receiving a report that management found the items while in the process of cleaning the evicted man's room.
Police said that while the officers were processing the evidence, the evicted man returned to the hotel and was arrested without incident.
Investigators identified the suspect as 27-year-old Steven Sherman.
Officers have been able to return two bicycles to their rightful owners, using the serial numbers.
Sherman faces charges of theft in the first degree, theft in the second degree and attempted possession of methamphetamine.
