GOLD HILL, OR (KPTV) -

A traffic stop in southern Oregon led to the discovery of five pounds of marijuana in the car, as well as 39 pounds in a home upon further investigation.

An OSP trooper stopped a rented 2012 Chevrolet Sonic with Utah plates on Highway 140E in Lakeview for a lane use traffic violation at 10:20 a.m. March 1.

The trooper said he found five pounds of marijuana concealed in the trunk. The two women inside the car, Susan Jackson, 54, and Cheryl Jackson, 53, both from Boise, ID, were arrested on charges of unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance.

Drug enforcement detectives continued the investigation, leading them to a home in the Gold Hill area.

A search yielded 39 additional pounds of marijuana. The person at the home, Timothy Wyatt, 61, was cited and released to appear in Jackson County court on charges of manufacture, possession and distribution of a controlled substance.
