MOLALLA, OR (KPTV) -

Two people were injured when a car hit a patch of black ice and slid into an oncoming school bus Thursday morning.

State police said 19-year-old Alexandra Vanderpool, from Oregon City, had been heading west on Highway 211 near Molalla around 6:30 a.m. when her car slid into the oncoming traffic lane.

Vanderpool's Volkswagen Passat collided with a full-size school bus from the Molalla School District.

There were no students on the bus because the driver had just started her route.

Vanderpool suffered serious injuries in the wreck, and a LifeFlight helicopter rushed her to the hospital. She's expected to survive.

The school bus driver, 57-year-old Lori Koos, was taken by car to Willamette Falls Hospital and has since been treated and released.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and no citations were issued.

State police said road conditions in south Clackamas County were very slick Thursday morning.
