PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A boy accused of bringing a loaded gun onto a MAX train and flashing it during a dispute with a woman was sentenced to one year formal probation in juvenile court.

The boy, 11 years old at the time of his arrest in January 2012, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm and interfering with public transportation Thursday.

Portland police said he was joined by another boy in an argument with a woman on a MAX train. Investigators said it started after one of the boys bumped into her baby stroller.

During the argument, police said the boy with the gun lifted up his shirt to reveal the weapon tucked in his waistband. Police said he started to pull the gun out, but the woman backed away.

She then called 911, the train was stopped in Chinatown and the suspect was identified. Police said he was carrying a loaded .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun.
