PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Officers responding to a burglary report at a home in northeast Portland ended up arresting the person living there on drug and gun charges.

Portland police were called to the home on the 8900 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard last Thursday.

As officers secured the residence, they saw two rifles and a small marijuana growing operation in the home.

Police began to investigate and determined the marijuana was not part of a legal medical grow site and the man in the home, David Branham, 32, is a convicted felon.

Officers returned Saturday and arrested Branham on charges of manufacturing marijuana and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators said they found 24 mature pot plants in the home and 20 seedlings.
