SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Detectives have identified a suspect in an attempted home invasion robbery that ended with a victim getting shot.

Deputies were called to a home on Jade Street Northeast in Salem at 8 a.m. Jan. 28. The 911 caller said two men were fighting with another man in the backyard of a home.

Deputies arrived and found a man suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Christopher Riesch, 50, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators said Riesch was staying in a small pool house separate from the main home when two masked men broke in and demanded money.

A scuffle ensued and Riesch was shot.

On Monday, deputies identified one of the suspects as Dennis Knight, 33, of Grand Ronde. Investigators believe he frequents both Grand Ronde and Salem.

He is described as 6'4" tall and 240 pounds. He has brown hair and numerous tattoos on his arms and hands, most noticeably bear claws tattooed on the web of each hand.

Investigators are seeking information about where he is, what vehicles he drives and people he is associated with.

Detectives are also asking for any information about the second suspect.
