Two arrested after high-speed chase

MARION COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Two men are behind bars Thursday night after a high-speed chase through Interstate 5 traffic.

Investigators say a stolen car was spotted around 6 p.m. Thursday, and the driver tried to get away from Marion County deputies in Salem by speeding north on I-5.

OSP Troopers joined the chase near Woodburn and used spike strips to end the chase at the Nyberg Road off-ramp in Tualatin.

Police identified the driver as Jesse Plata Jr. and the passenger as Norberto Martinez.

The two men were arrested and face numerous charges along with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Both are being held at the Marion County Jail.
