Search warrant leads to arrest in Troutdale

Posted: Updated:
TROUTDALE, OR (KPTV) -

A SWAT team was preparing to serve a search warrant at a Troutdale home when a wanted man started driving off in his car Friday.

Officers said they followed 22-year-old Austin Hoover from the 1000 block of SW Hensley Road before picking a safe location to serve the warrant and deploy a "distraction device."

A large boom from the distraction device echoed through the neighborhood and police were able to arrest Hoover without further incident.

So far, Troutdale police haven't released any additional information on why they were looking for Hoover. It is believed to be a Gresham Police Department case.

The Multnomah County Jail lists Hoover as being in custody on charges of possession and delivery of cocaine, manufacturing marijuana and forgery.
