SHERWOOD, OR (KPTV) -
Several parents have pulled their students out of a local charter school after they say another student made violent threats against their children.
Friday, parents delivered a letter to the board of the Sherwood Charter School demanding that immediate action be taken. A lawyer for the group says the student in question made violent and sexual threats toward several students and even stabbed one boy with a pencil. Several parents say they've reported this issue to the school board on multiple occasions and nothing was done.
The school released a statement today about this issue, saying in part, "Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our students at all times, Sherwood Charter School acted with student safety as a foremost concern, and will continue to do so in the future."
Parents say they will be filing a lawsuit against the school on Monday.
