PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Damian Lillard, rookie guard with the Portland Trailblazers, took his campaign against bullying to a local middle school Friday.

The "Respect" campaign was launched by Lillard, the Blazers and partners Les Schwab Tire Centers and Adidas on March 4. Its goal is to encourage everyone to stand up for the rights of others and formally pledge to show respect for all people.

On Friday, Lillard was the guest of honor at an assembly at Parkrose Middle School. He talked to students, posed for pictures and led the school in a recitation of the Respect Pledge as part of the campaign.

In the first 10 days of the anti-bullying effort, more than 4,000 people took the pledge from more than 20 U.S. states and four countries.
