BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A Beaverton man convicted of sex abuse against two teenage girls will spend three years behind bars.

Marques Goei was sentenced in court Monday.

He was arrested in June 2012 and charged with six counts of sex abuse. A jury found him guilty on three of those counts in February, but did not convict him on the other three counts.

Police said the abuse involved inappropriate touching when the girls were visiting his daughter at his home. Investigators said the victims were 13 and 14 years old at the time.

Goei has no prior criminal history, according to police, and detectives don't believe there are any other victims.

Goei made a statement in court Monday, but did not specifically address the charges or the victims.

"I realize there is an inherent responsibility when there are people that truly care about you and you need to make sure that you care for yourself and take responsibility for your actions because they directly impact the people that love you," he said.
