The frontwoman for a rock band was arrested early Saturday morning after police said she blocked traffic in north Portland.
Mary Beth Patterson, better known to fans of the band Gossip as Beth Ditto, was arrested at around 1 a.m. outside the Bungalow Bar, 4205 N. Mississippi Ave.
Officers arrived at the scene and said Patterson was standing in the middle of the street with her arms extended from her sides like an airplane.
Police said she was shouting as she blocked traffic. Four cars were stopped in the road and one driver was honking and yelling for her to get out of the street when officers arrived.
Police said Patterson did not respond to their commands, so she was taken into custody. She was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on one count of disorderly conduct.
She was released a short time later on her own recognizance.
Police said they did not know the woman was a singer in a band at the time of her arrest.
