$1,000 reward offered for info in Gresham murder

GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

Investigators hope a $1,000 reward will lead to new information in the killing of 23-year-old Shane Brumbaugh.

Brumbaugh died in his home in the 1400 block of Northeast Paropa Court after being shot March 10 at about 6:30 p.m.

Police said the suspects arrived on foot, shot Brumbaugh outside the home and then fled in a car.

Brumbaugh made it back inside his house, and a neighbor was performing CPR when police arrived. Brumbaugh died at the scene of a gunshot wound to the chest.

"He was only 23 years old. He has a 6-year-old son," said Shane's mother, Gina Brumbaugh. "You never think it's going to be your children."

A car linked to the shooting has been described as a smaller, silver four-door car, possibly an import. The driver of the car may have been driving erratically immediately after the shooting.

The major streets that border the scene are Northeast Kane Drive to the east, Division Street to the south and Stark Street to the north.

Police searched the neighborhood for possible suspects on the night of the shooting, but they were unable to find anyone. Detectives from the East County Major Crimes Team have been investigating ever since.

"If anybody knows anything I just pray that they call," said Gina Brumbaugh. "Tell what they know so we can catch them. Let him at least rest in peace."

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 503-823-4357, or text 274637 and put 823HELP, followed by your tip.
