SPRINGFIELD, OR (KPTV) -
The FBI says they now know the identity of the man they call the "Tall Man Bandit."
Chet Evans, 25, is accused of robbing six banks in the Eugene and Springfield area this year alone.
FBI agents have obtained a criminal complaint charging Evans with one count of bank robbery related to a robbery Monday at Key Bank on Coburg Road in Eugene. Evans is also suspected of robbing the following banks on the listed dates:
- Feb. 14 - U.S. Bank inside the Albertson's at 311 Coburg Rd. in Eugene
- Feb. 20 - Chase Bank inside the Fred Meyer at 650 Q St. in Springfield
- Feb. 25 - Umpqua Bank at 3876 West 11th Ave. in Eugene
- March 6 - U.S. Bank inside Safeway at 1891 Pioneer Parkway in Springfield
- March 15 - U.S. Bank inside Albertson's at 1675 W. 18th St. in Eugene
A $2,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to Evans' arrest and conviction. His last known address is in Eugene, but he also has ties to Medford, Ashland, Portland and Lake Oswego.
He's described as white, 6'2" and 185 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
