GOVERNMENT CAMP, OR (KPTV) -
The calendar says spring, but the weather didn't seem ready to give up on winter just yet.
The snow fell on Mount Hood Wednesday, in big heavy flakes at times, and in light flurries at others.
The winds also brought their fury.
But skiers and snowboarders didn't seem to mind.
"It's definitely better when the season is long like this because we could ride clear through June," snowboarder Trevor Holser said.
Another snowboarder, Michael Sullivan, said the gusty winds even caused near white-out conditions at the top of Timberline.
"It was getting pretty bad at the top of the lifts. It's not as bad down here as it was up there, but I'm feeling when we get up there it might be a little worse," Sullivan said.
For the most part, folks on the mountain said they've seen a lot worse, especially when it comes to road conditions.
Still, ODOT is advising travelers to keep chains and traction tires handy.
Business owners said they hope the wintry conditions continue so that they can have a busy spring break.
