Parts of western Oregon get rare spring snow

Posted: Updated:

Snow showers passed through parts of western Oregon and southwest Washington on Friday morning.

Snowflakes were seen in towns like Forest Grove, Rainier and Vernonia, as well as parts of Clark County.

ODOT traffic cameras also captured flurries on Highway 26 near the Oregon Zoo.

The snow is just a portion of the wild weather over the last couple days. Thursday featured rain, sun, hail and even a small tornado in Clark County.

FOX 12 meteorologists said the snow showers would be hit-and-miss throughout the morning.

Portland is eventually expected to see a high of 48 degrees today.
