TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A man in a standoff with police in Tigard finally came out with his hands up and was taken into custody Friday.

Paul Arnsberg, 45, is charged with attempted murder stemming from a domestic violence incident, according to Tigard Police.

Officers attempted to contact and arrest him at 11:30 a.m. Friday at his home at 10310 S.W. 69th Ave. Police said Arnsberg barricaded himself in one of the outbuildings located on the property.

That's when Washington County's Tactical Negotiations Team was called to the scene.

Neighbors were evacuated as a precaution.

Police said "diversionary devices" were used at around 5:30 p.m. and the tactical team broke through the door. Shortly after that, Arnsberg emerged from the building with his arms in the air.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Jail. Nobody was hurt.
