Deputies have arrested a hit-and-run suspect after he was spotted by a resident in rural Washington County.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Bryan Onderdonk, of Tigard, was barefoot and wearing stolen coveralls when he was found on the property near the scene of the fatal T-bone crash south of Hillsboro on Sunday afternoon.

Investigators said Onderdonk broke into a house before his arrest.

Onderdonk had been the subject of an extensive search after he fled the crash, which happened just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 219 and Southwest Farmington Road.

Onderdonk was allegedly driving a BMW that struck a Saturn sedan, whose driver died after the impact.

The driver killed, was identified as Marcos Castillo, 50, from Vancouver, WA.

"I'm still in disbelief," said Castillo's wife, Cindy. "We were supposed to be together forever."

She said her husband was on his way to a landscaping job south of Hillsboro when the crash happened.

"He was such a kind, loving, honest, hard working man and I just can't fathom he's not coming home anymore," said Cindy.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says no passengers were in the vehicles, just the two drivers were involved.

Onderdonk is charged with felony hit-and-run, attempted burglary, burglary, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and theft.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but deputies said Onderdonk was not driving impaired.
