BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Beaverton police are looking for a man who grabbed a restaurant's cash box and took off late Monday night.

It happened at the Shari's located at Murray and Allen Boulevard around 11:45 p.m.

Police said the thief was playing video poker before taking the cash box.

"[A] waiter came over and said 'Hey, did you hear that crash?' and I said 'No'," Shari's customer Kurt Ator told Fox 12. "'What's going on?' and he said, 'We just got robbed. Simple as that. Somebody ran out the back door with the till.'"

Officers searched for the man with a K-9 unit but didn't find him.

They told Fox 12 that they did find the cash box and it appeared to still have all the money inside.

Police said the thief is between 5'9" and 5'11" and has a goatee.
