VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A Clackamas County deputy set to face trial early next month is back in jail on new charges.

Steven Hyson, 47, was arrested last May on assault charges involving his wife and stepson. Police arrested him again at his home in Vancouver last week.

Court documents show there is a "no contact" order issued against Hyson for his wife. However, she told police he failed to pay spousal support, which resulted in her being evicted from her apartment and moving back into the family home in November 2012.

Court documents show that he confronted his wife last week and was enraged about information she gave to his lawyer. Police said he told her that her comments would make him lose his house and his job.

His wife told police that on numerous occasions since she moved back into the home, Hyson told her she needed to tell the prosecuting attorney that he did not assault her or his stepson.

In May 2012, court documents allege Hyson fought with his 22-year-old stepson, grabbed him by the head and shoulder and spun him into the side of the house, causing injuries, including a fractured cheekbone.

Hyson's wife told detectives he also pushed her out of the way and has been abusive toward her in the past.

He is set to face trial in that case April 8.

He is being held in the Clark County Jail on the new charges without bail. He is also on unpaid leave from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
