String of home burglaries leaves neighborhood on edge

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Vancouver police are warning people to lock their doors after a string of home burglaries.

They say FOX 12's Most Wanted have hit at least five times in the past 10 days.

One woman spoke to FOX 12 but wanted to remain anonymous in case the thieves came back.

She says the thieves must have been watching her because she was only gone from her home for about an hour when the burglars hit.

Vancouver police say all the burglaries happened during the day and were in the area north of East Mill Plain Boulevard between Grand Boulevard and North Devine Road.

Police say they broke in through garages and sliding doors to steal jewelry and laptops.

The woman we talked to said the burglars not only stole a jewelry box but sentimental photos that were in that jewelry stand.

The thieves left behind a footprint on the door that they kicked in.

Police want neighbors to be on the lookout for anyone suspicious.

If you have any information, contact Vancouver police.
