Some local kids took a trip to a tropical paradise, without ever leaving Portland.
All this week, Providence Saint Vincent hospital turned "Camp Spot" into the island of Hawaii. Camp Spot helps kids who have developmental delays, including autism. The program there includes a different theme each day from around the world.
The kids get the chance to make crafts, perform plays, cook and do other activities centered around their therapy goals, but with a tropical twist.
Providence holds these types of camps a few times a year, usually during winter break and summer.
