A man accused of stealing a motorcycle, crashing into the back of an SUV and running away a bloody mess has been caught by police.

Andrew Pulver, 29, was arrested by Portland police at 12:15 a.m. Friday.

Police said the motorcycle was stolen out of The Dalles and other drivers reported a man driving it recklessly Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 205 near Johnson Creek Boulevard.

Investigators said Pulver rear-ended an SUV, flew off the bike and smashed into the rear window, shattering it.

Witnesses said he was bleeding badly as he ran away from the crash scene.

Troopers are continuing to interview Pulver at the Multnomah County Justice Center and charges are expected to be filed at a later time.

No details have been released yet about what led to his arrest.
