PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Timbers fought back finish with another tie, this time against the Colorado Rapids, all thanks to a brace from captain Will Johnson.

The Timbers faced the Rapids in Commerce City, a Denver suburb, Saturday afternoon.

The green and white settled into the now familiar pattern of giving up early goals and spending the rest of the match clawing their way back.

Portland fell behind for the fourth straight match, and were down two goals by the 48th minute.

Skipper Will Johnson brought one goal back by scoring a Ryan Johnson assisted goal in the 55th minute.

The Timbers captain then evened proceedings up by converting a penalty kick in the 71st.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The green and white still have yet to win a MLS game at Colorado.

As of Sunday morning, the Timbers had only three points from four matches, and were seventh place in the Western Conference.

Portland return to action Saturday against the Houston Dynamo at JELD-WEN.
