GOVERNMENT CAMP, OR (KPTV) -

A missing skier's body has been found submerged in a creek near Ski Bowl on Mount Hood.

Clackamas County deputies said the skier, 23-year-old Russell Tiffany, was part of a group of experienced skiers that left the Ski Bowl's west side boundary Saturday night.

The group had gathered at a hut just outside the Ski Bowl resort boundary, and alcohol had been consumed. Deputies said Tiffany appeared intoxicated and decided to head down the mountain alone, but became disoriented when he left.

He had been in contact with a member of the group via cell phone, but he was still unable to find his way in the area of Mirror Lake.

Tiffany's body was found around 7:15 p.m. Sunday near Highway 26 west of the Ski Bowl resort.

The medical examiner's death is now conducting a death investigation.

Tiffany was originally from Las Vegas.
