Oregon State Police continue to investigate a single-vehicle traffic crash on Highway 6 west of Banks on Sunday, March 31.

One woman and her granddaughter were seriously injured in the crash.

Senior Trooper Mark McDougal said a 2004 Ford Focus driven by a 66-year-old woman was eastbound on Highway 6 when it slowly drifted across the westbound lane and narrowly missed a bridge structure.

The car went off the highway and down a 20-foot ravine.

Other drivers stopped and were able to get the girl, approximately age 10, from the car but couldn't remove the driver who was trapped.
It took firefighters about an hour to get the driver from the car.
Both people in the car were taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with serious injuries.
