WASHINGTON COUNTY (KPTV) -

Washington County deputies responded to multiple crashes over the weekend, including one that resulted in a man's death.

At 1:13 p.m. Sunday, deputies said Ruth Johnson, 90, turned directly into the path of a motorcyclist on Southwest Farmington Road near 209th Avenue.

Jerrold McEachern, 60, of Beaverton hit the side of the woman's car with his 2007 Suzuki D6E motorcycle. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Johnson's car sustained extensive damage, but she was not hurt. The case will be forwarded to the district attorney's office for review.

Deputies said other crashes during the warm weekend resulted in DUII investigations.

At around 4:50 a.m. Saturday, a 2012 Dodge Ram crashed into a tree on Southwest McCormick Hill Road. The driver, Cody Stone, 22, and his brother, Nikolas Stone, 21, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and probable charges have been filed against Cody.

A 2001 Dodge pickup crashed off Highway 219 at Southwest Wolsborn Avenue at 6:40 p.m. Saturday. Investigators said George Chavez-Gutierrez, 28, sheared off a power pole and went into a field.

Witnesses said Chavez-Gutierrez was driving recklessly prior to the crash. He was not hurt, but he was arrested on charges of DUII, reckless driving and criminal mischief.

Deputies said people need to be extra cautious as the weather improves and more drivers and cyclists are out on the roads. The sheriff's office will continue to have increased roadway patrols during high use times.

Deputies arrested at least 12 DUII drivers in Washington County over the weekend.
